Balloon Magic Magazine #54 - Trick or Treat
Don't let the front cover of the new Balloon Magic Magazine #54 fool you.The transformer relates to the Diamond Jam '08 article, which includes pictures of some really awesome winning designs from the DJ contests. The Twist & Shout '08 article also includes more awesome designs from its contest winners. I'm sure these pictures will bring back a lot of fond memories of these two great conventions.
Now, the fun begins with some wonderful looking decorations and costume designs by none other than the highly respected Caldwells. Both Don and Laura give us a sampling of some of the great ideas that run through their multi-talented minds - i.e. a bat, pumpkin & vampire wobbles, robot, bouncy skull stalker hat, wizard's owl, and a friendly ghost.
Another great twister, Dee White of England, also demonstrates how to make a scary looking pirate mask. What perfect timing, for all these great designs to come out just in time for Halloween!
This issue's spotlight article features the "jovial" Robbie Furman. It's a great article for those who aren't familiar with or don't know Robbie that well, or how he got his start in the twisting business. After reading the article, you'll understand why Robbie is a great asset to the balloon community.
Finally, the "Routine" section features Jeff McBride of Las Vegas, NV, who was recently named Magician of the Year by the Magic Castle in Hollywood. Jeff explains how to do his "Screaming Streams of Water" routine, which sounds fun and pretty entertaining.
