MAGIC COLORING BOOKS

Seen it? Probably. Because it's a good, easy trick. Is yours getting ragged from use? Need a new one? We got 'em, in three different themes.

You can thumb through the book and show only blank pages or only line drawing pages or only the pages with the same line drawings colored in. It comes with good instructions and a basic routine.

I'm not sure where the idea came from but using 3 books for a stage "3 card monte" type routine seems like a fun position for a magician to be in. It would be easy to make sure the kids always get it right and the parents always get it wrong.

If you are worried about kids that say, "I know that one!" We have blank duplicates of the

You know the gimmicked coloring book that you can show as blank, line drawings or the line drawings colored in, depending on how you flip the pages. Now you can get the same thing in 3 sizes.

The benefits include: 1) A smaller prop fits a smaller or closer audience. Like a restaurant table or a small circle of kids. 2) The small one fits in a shirt pocket. 3) The medium one fits into a large clown pocket or most magic cases. 4) The big one works well in a living room or a small crowd.

That's all nice but I like the fact that they are exactly the same except for size. I'd come up with a 3 book monte routine. It would require the clown logic of discounting the fact they are different sizes. Show 2 books colored in and one book blank. Ask them if they can follow the blank book. Mix the books up and have them choose. I might let them win a few times to make it into a running gag. Just a thought.

COLORING BOOK OF MAGIC - XL

#6221 - $18.00 - Quantity:

The "Coloring Book of Magic" in the 3 different sizes is very popular. The different sizes work for different situations. Plus having the same coloring book in the 3 different sizes has lead to a variety of comic routines.

Now get your "Coloring Book of Magic" in an
Extra Large 10 1/4" W x 13 3/4" H.

There is more value to Extra Large than being able to see it from far away. Clowns use Extra Large for comedy. Teaching material and toys for little kids are often Extra Large to draw and hold attention. Extra Large props seem more valuable and more professional in a kids show. Having an Extra Large show is just one reason to have an Extra Large "Coloring Book of Magic."

MAGIC ROPE

#6304 - 50 Foot Hank - $7.52
Quantity:

That's right. Magic Rope. Perfect for that rowdy kid in the back. No, No. (Although it is nice soft cotton rope. At the last family reunion I spent an afternoon tying up the kids and seeing how long it took them to get loose. It was fun.)

This white cotton rope shows up well, hangs nicely, and cuts easily with sharp scissors. It's 1/4 inch wide, with a twisted core that you can pull out of the woven outside. It's the standard rope used for magic tricks.

I know lots of you do rope magic. It's a lot easier to practice a cut and restored routine if you've got a whole roll of rope. Maybe you'd like to make yourself a new set of ropes for the Professor's Nightmare.

The 50 foot hank is a differrent rope than the 300 foot spool. It is softer, slightly bigger and whiter. I would use the 50 foot hank for preformance.

Patriotic Ropes

#6306 - $5.00 - Quantity:

So, you've got a bundle of 3 ropes; Red, White, and Blue. You untie one end of the bundle and tie 2 ropes together. Do the same to the other end. Now you have 3 pieces tied into one long rope. Wrap the rope around your hand, say the magic words, wave your magic wand, do the magic dance, and Wa La, the rope has blended into one rope with no knots. This is pretty easy. When you read the instructions, "Knot All Three Ropes Here" means grab the three ropes and tie a single overhand knot.

Stiff Magic Rope

#6307 - $4.75 - Quantity:

This gimmicked rope is the kind of trick that could be a quick throw away or a 5 minute routine. A fat, 39 inch, white rope is wound in a coil. When you pull from the middle to the ends and stretch it out, it stays straight out, pretty straight anyway. You can hold it in the middle and the ends will stick straight out. And you can make it flop back to a floppy rope in an instant. It's cute, visual, and has the potential to be a funny routine. You need to be nice to it. It's not indestructible.

#6292/10 - buy 10+ - $3.60

Bright Yellow with Black lettering. At first glance it looks like the tape police use to rope off a crime scene. Just the look will attract attention. When the audience reads it, they realize it is to mark off the performer's area. It saves you from being crushed by an adoring crowd. While there are lots of techniques to keep the crowd back, this one is easy, funny, and attracts attention.

Penetration Frame

#6402 - $4.75 - Quantity:

This is more of a puzzle than magic. It's a plastic frame holding a sheet of clear plastic. You slide a playing or business card on each side of the clear plastic and poke a nail or pencil through the cards and plastic. This leaves the cards with holes in them but the plastic undamaged. "An impossibility according to the laws of physics" as the instructions say. It's clever.

Chinese Sticks

#6406 - $6.50 - Quantity:

You've got these 2 black sticks, see. Attached to one end of each stick is a cord with a fringe. One cord is long, one short. Hold the sticks in one hand, cord ends out. Pull the short cord fringe and it gets longer as the long cord in the other stick gets shorter. Do it again. It looks like the cords are connected where the sticks meet in your hand. The audience figures it out and tells you to separate the sticks. You do and it still works.

I've seen a variety of characters use these to advantage. A magician had a big lead up story before showing his magic Chinese sticks. A Clown was as confused about how it worked as the audience.

It works with weights and how you hold the sticks. It takes a little practice to get the timing right but it's worth it. These are pretty nice in appearance and action. I like them.

Fortune Telling Fish

#6420 - 144 count - $7.20 - Quantity:

This is a classic. The fish is very thin plastic that curls when you lay it in your hand. The envelope it comes in lists the ways it can curl and deciphers each type of curl as your fortune. Totally bogus and kind of hokey but people love them just as they are. You can write up your own fortunes and make a whole routine out of it or just give them away. Whatever you do with these little guys, everybody wants one.

Mini Appearing Wand

This is really cute. Shiny black with silver tips, this wand looks great and appears in an instant. It's a plastic strip that wants to take the shape of an 20" straw. It starts out rolled up into a small bundle and held by a little ring. You can take the ring off and palm it securely so opening your hand lets the wand pop out.

Valentine Necklace Prediction

#6287 - $4.95 - Quantity:

Four hearts - Red, Blue, Green and Black - are on the table along with a closed jewelry case. Tell the person the jewelry case contains a necklace with a heart hanging from it. Have the person pick a heart. An easy force method - explained in the instructions - will leave the person with a choice of Red or Blue. Before you open the jewelry case, ask the person if they would like to change their choice from Red to Blue or vice versa. When you have a final answer, open the case and show that indeed the color they chose is the color of the heart hanging on the necklace.

This is very easy. You can do it. Giving the audience the chance to change their mind in mid stream makes this trick even more amazing.

There is also the opportunity to come up with a story about where the jewelry box came from, where it's been, and the security measures taken to assure no one knows what the color is attached to the necklace."Before my birth, my mother put this closed jewelry box in a mayonnaise jar under Jerry Springer's back porch with instructions to do this trick for, and what are you names again?, yes, exactly. What luck.!"

Bruce Kalvers
Incredible Shrinking and Growing Head

#6160 - $25.00 - Quantity:

This is a wonderful optical illusion. To the audience, your head will blow up. Well, it will appear to inflate, or get smaller, depending on the direction you spin the spiral. It is a 14 1/2" diameter circle with a big spiral printed on one side and a hole in the middle. It comes with directions and an explanation and a bolt to put through the center hole. To make this as easy as possible, you should use a battery operated screw driver or drill to turn the spiral. Bruce says it works as close as 3 feet but he also says the further you are away, the better it works. I saw it from the back of a classroom and again from the back of a banquet room and both times I saw his head inflate. It's kind of weird but the audience remembers it. I like it.

Perfect Penetration

#6175 - $8.25 - Quantity:

The spectator signs a bill with your pen. You take the pen and bill and stick the pen right through the bill. When you pull the pen from the bill there is no hole in the bill. The pen can be examined by the spectator.

It's a pen with 2 ends. One is real and the other is a magnetic tip. Instructions come with the pen. It's not hard, but it takes some practice. It's a good little trick and it's a real pen so you have a reason to carry it.

It's a little plastic Nun figure that's hollow and fits on the end of your finger. The routine is a math test. Show a coin in your hand. Take it out. Say, one minus one is? Show the Nun in your hand. It's cute, it's easy. The instructions that come with it are excellent.

The Perfect Shell Game

#6177 - $10.00 - Quantity:

3 walnut shells and a pea. Cover the pea and move 'em around. Where's the pea?

It's an old con game, presented as entertainment. The Shells are molded walnuts made of thumb tip rubber. The Pea looks like a pea but it's kind of spongy. The instructions are good. You have to practice. It's best to do this on a close up pad.

The Third Hand

#6176( ) - Left (L) or Right (R) - $18.00 ea
*Quantity:

Here's a good, funny, easy, magic prop. It's made like a thumb tip but it's all 4 fingers in a grasping position. It comes with instructions for 3 applications. My favorite is the Haunted Box. You make a hole in the side of a box and hang the fake hand on the flap. From most angles, it looks like you are holding the box with both hands. You can have anything appear to float up out of the box; a skull can look around and go back down, puppets can talk to the audience, a balloon figure can look out of the box, things can come flying out. Answer the door with it on Halloween. Hold the box above their head and have them reach in. You control what happens in the box. It's the kind of gimmick that can have multiple uses. I like it.

Mesh Egg Bag

#6197 - $7.20 - Quantity:

This is about the easiest egg bag I've ever seen. Classically the magician pretends to take the egg from the bag and put it under his arm. He plays with the kids while they shout, "It's under your arm!", finally showing them it is not. And if they watch the bag, the egg reappears.

I like to secretly put a pocket watch under my arm when they think I'm putting the egg there. Then when I show them there is no egg under my arm I can say, "You've gotta watch" and show them the pocket watch.

This bag comes with a wooden egg. It's not very expensive. I'd get 2 to have a 2nd egg. Then I could show them the egg was not under my arm. It's in my sox. Take the 2nd egg from your sox and palm it as you toss it in the air. Have it appear, as if caught, in the bag. It can be a 5 minute routine.

My whole routine is written up in "Life On The Living Room Circuit" using an egg bag Merianne made me. It is not hard to make the routine fit this bag from India.

Vanishing Cigarette

#6269 - $3.00 each - Quantity:
Buy 10+ save 33%, Just $2 each

This is a great and easy little magic trick. A cigarette put in the Stop Smoking Tube shrinks to smaller than a toothpick. And they can hold the tube!

There are lots of ways to introduce the gimmicked cigarette. You can just show it when you introduce the tube. You can have it in a pack of cigarettes. I wrote a "smoke all you want" routine. Its on the web site. You can use this trick over and over but it needs a little preperation This is a low price for a high quality, high value trick. I like this trick.

Smoke 'em All You Want
by T. Myers

"Let me show you this Stop Smoking Cigarette Case my Dr. sold me. Seventeen dollars for this little tube. It does have this stop smoking symbol on the side. And you can smoke as much as you want as long as you follow the rule."

(Put the tube back in your pocket.)

"Have a cigarette? I'll show you how it works."

(Get their cigarette and with the hand holding their cigarette, reach for the tube in your pocket. While in your pocket, drop off their cigarette and pick up the tube and the gimmicked cigarette. While doing that, explain the rule.)

"The rule is, the cigarette has to spend at least 2 minutes in the tube before you smoke it. It keeps you from lighting one after the other. Cutting down is better than nothing. Its kind of a hassle but follow the rule but you can smoke as much as you want."

(Put the gimmicked cigarette in the tube, put the top on and hand them the tube.)

"Hold the tube closed for 2 minutes. You will find your interest in the cigarette fading as I direct your attention to the fabulous balloon flower I am about to make."

(Make a balloon flower. A tulip will do.) "Fabulous, yes? For you."

"Notice how your interest in the cigarette has faded. Effective don't you think? No? Not seventeen dollars worth?"

"Well, open the tube and pour out the cigarette. You can smoke all you like." (The cigarette is gone but when they tip the tube a teeny-tiny cigarette slides out.)
