STREET TWISTERS CONTEST
I expect most twisters make most of their twisting income from figures
they can make in 2 minutes or less. If that's true, this contest should be
the "most useful" event at TJam03. The Street Twisters Contest is an opportunity
for every twister to show what works for them in their world. More than that,
we get to see how they act and what they say while they are twisting.
The reasons you should enter this contest include:
-
Sharing.
-
Showing off your skills and your style.
-
Gaining recognition.
-
Promoting your Private Lessons.
|
The reasons you should watch and vote in this contest include:
-
Picking up new figures.
-
Learning new tips that can make a big difference.
-
Seeing a wide variety of style.
-
Determining who can teach you what you want to know.

THE RULES:
-
You have to stop when your 2 minutes are up.
-
Only one shot per contestant unless it's over early then we'll take a voice
vote on contestants getting a 2nd turn. It would be a good idea to have two
spots prepared.
-
There's very little you can't do. You can bring other people on stage but
this is not a team competition. You are the one being judged.
|
*JUDGING
Last time there were a lot of categories. It was confusing. This time there
are no categories .
Everyone in the audience (except contestants) will get a score sheet
to give each act a 1 to 10 score. I'll suggest they score by how much they
enjoyed your 2 minutes but it is up to them. I'll also suggest that going
over 2 minutes is disrespectful to the other contestants and it should be
reflected in the score.
After the welcome and talking with the featured lecturers we1ll take
a 10 minute break to sign up contestants. I'll want your name, registration
number, and a title for your act. Once you are signed up and the audience
is ready to score, we1ll have the contest. Be ready. |

Balloon HQ STAGE CONTEST
Larry Moss and the crew from BHQ will be hosting this popular contest.
The Stage Contest is new to TJAM but judging from the popularity of this

fun.

long. Contestants will be judged by a panel of 5 judges.

FANCY FIGURE CONTEST
The Fancy Figure Contest is the most anticipated contest at TJAM. The
array of sculptures that are entered will amaze and inspire. The largest
Prize Certificates are awarded and the Twister with the most total votes
is named the "Top Twister" for 2003.
This year there is a $5.00 entry fee for each size
category. This money goes to the "Top Twister" and is not part of
the $3100.00 in prize certificates. |

| The categories are only limited by size. Boxes have been made to
check small and medium sizes.

|
Each category will have 3

-
First Place - $300 Prize Certificate
-
Second Place - $200 Prize Certificate
-

TOP TWISTER
Highest total vote getter from all categories in Fancy Figure Contest - Cash
Entry Jackpot |
THE RULES:
-
One person can enter one item in each category. You can enter one category
or all three.
-
If your entry has more than one piece, the parts must be connected. Glue
them to cardboard or tie them together with thread, whatever you want. This
will make judging easier and keep small pieces from blowing down the hall.
-
Only those twisters that enter the contest will get to vote on the Best of
Small, Medium, and Large.
-
You can't vote for yourself.
-
Total votes determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of each category and Top Twister.
-
Large sculptures ONLY can be made in the contest display area.
-
No Team Entries. I'm not saying you can't help each other. I'm saying that
there's one person's name on each entry and that person will get the credit
and prizes for their figure. I think teams should not compete with individuals.
Teams would be a whole different contest.
-
*Supplies - You can use anything you
want (as long as it's safe - no fire please.)
*Please Note: I'm NOT offering
free supplies to contestants and I will NOT have helium for you. There may
be some helium around that you could beg or borrow but no guarantees. If
you need helium, you need to take care of it yourself. If you get a tank,
you are responsible for tank saftey and for not leaving it unattended.
I'm NOT guaranteeing an electrical outlet. If you need power, bring
extension cords and duct tape to tape them down and we will try to find you
an outlet but there's a limit. The only completely sure way to have power
is to have your own batteries. |
