JAMMIN'

I'd urge people to show up early. Like Wednesday or Thursday to get in the most jamming time. Those who showed up early in '99 had some of the best impromtued jam sessions of the convention.I'll set up a message board in the lobby

I hope the lecturers will offer private lessons on Sunday so you could see them all if that is what youÕd like. And Ralph Dewey has agreed to lead the Services and offer private lessons Sunday.

CONTESTS & PRIZES

**  Contest Rules and Prizes  **

Contests & Prizes - There's $2000 worth of prizes at TJam01. The prize certificates are good for anything out of the T. Myers Magic Catalog at the regular retail price.

Friday Night  - 2 Minute Contest

In '99 we had an Open Mike. In '01 we will put some bucks in your pocket for your best 2 minute balloon routine.

I expect most twisters make most of their twisting income from figures they can make in 2 minutes or less. If that's true, this contest should be the "most useful" event at TJam01. The 2 Minute Contest is an opportunity for every twister to show what works for them in their world. More than that, we get to see how they act and what they say while they are twisting.

The reasons you should enter this contest include:

  • Sharing.

  • Showing off your skills and your style.

  • Gaining recognition.

  • Promoting your Private Lessons.

  • Lots of Prizes - You'll get something just for entering

  • Each sub category winner gets a $50 prize certificate.

The reasons you should watch and vote in this contest include:

  • Picking up new figures.

  • Learning new tips that can make a big difference.

  • Seeing a wide variety of style.

  • Determining who can teach you what you want to know.

Saturday - Figure Contest

3 Categories:

  • Small - fits in 12"x12"x8" box
  • Medium - fits in 30"x30"x30" box
  • Large - fits in room

Each category gets prizes:

  • First Place - $250 credit
  • Second Place - $100 credit
  • Third Place - $50 credit
  • The trophy for Top Twister will go to the top money winner of Saturday's Figure Contest

BANQUET

At the Saturday night banquet there will be a table twisting contest. No, you don't have to make a table. We'll have a nice dinner and announce the winners of the Figure contest. This should not go too long and I expect you will not have any trouble finding twisters jamming late into the night.
  • Winnig Table receives Champaign

SERVICES

Services will be held Sunday morning.  Ralph Dewey a well known christian balloon artist will be leading the services.  Afterwards you will have the opportunity to hear Ralphs lecture on Gospel Balloon Routines.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Sunday is available for anyone to offer private classes. There are great twisters out there who are not known in the twisting community. This is an opportunity for both the unknown greats and the students looking for them.

Last TJam the average charge was $20. We'll have an organizational meeting Sunday to match up teachers and students.

The best way to get students is to be part of jams, win contests, impress people, network. Get them to ask you if you are going to offer classes.

Plan to leave late Sunday so you can take advantage of the private classes during the day.

If you plan to offer private classes, you are welcome to send me a promotional flyer to be included in the registration bag. Send at least 300 copies.
