Welcome
Tom's inaugural welcome was a big Thank You to everyone in attendance. T was confident that this unique crowd of experienced twisters could entertain themselves. The contest, lectures and private lessons are great but they are add-ons to the main event, the gathering. He asked the audience to answer a few questions by raising their hands to get a better idea of who they are.
A Thank You was extended to our sponsors, Qualatex Balloons a division of Pioneer Rubber Company, BSA - Balloon Supply of America and Prestige Balloons a division of Tilco International.
Some of the recognized Balloon Artist in attendance, included: Ralph Dewey, Jan Bohan, Arlene Powers, Yvonne Brogdon, Pat-In-The-Hat, Ken Stillman, and Fred Harshberger.
Lectures where introduced. Larry Moss gave a free early morning lecture on use of the BHQ web page and the use of the internet for promotion. Marvin Hardy is known for his detailed Balloon Art and making balloons just that "Art". John Holmes inspired folks with his multi balloon creations and Patty and Royal Sorell gave us tips on the business end of ballooning along with lessons in making people type figures.
A "Q & A" session followed where attendees could ask specific questions of the lecturers followed by "Open Mike"
