ATTACK OF THE 50' DEMON

BALLOONICATURES

ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT DEMON

#5723 -

Quantity:
This CD is enough reason to go buy a computer. Larry has included the best and most complete instruction on balloon "weaving' I've ever seen. "Weaving' techniques are useful for making very large figures or very detailed small figures. Larry has just returned from directing a Japanese crew in making a multi-thousand 260 figure parade float. His description of building something this huge shows how he used the weaving techniques.

Besides all the weaving information and "how to' make a float sized figure, Larry includes his thoughts and theories on Busking (Passing the Hat). He explains how he tells the crowd they will not all get a balloon but they will be entertained. Larry's ability to get the crowd to participate in deciding what Larry should make keeps them involved. (Actually he is leading them to choose what he is making anyway.) He has a lot of great stuff to say about building a busking show and making money with it.

The CD includes instructional video with sound demonstrating different methods of weaving, good line drawing type graphic instructions and lots of instructional text. I'm incredibly impressed.

You need a computer with a Browser, a CD player and QuickTime (to run the videos). To open the CD, turn on your browser (Netscape works well), Open the CD and click on the big dragon picture. That takes you to the Index and the whole thing works like a big Web Page. If you surf the web already, you should not have any problem. It's made to work on either a PC or a Mac.

BALLOONICATURE
The Many Faces Of Balloon Art

#5724 -

Quantity:

Here's a great new CD from Larry Moss. You've all seen caricature artists at fairs or on the street. They can whip out a comical sort of portrait (a caricature) in 5 to 15 minutes. That's what Larry aims to do with balloons. And he does it pretty well. This CD shows you several basic head designs and lots of detailed modifications to personalize the head. There's also information on bodies, feet, hands and like that but the emphasis is on making the head and face.

It's very well organized. He takes you through heads and head variations with lots of types of eyes, teeth, and hair. His instruction includes 30 minutes of video clips, hundreds of photos and line drawings, and plenty of useful tips in the text. If you want to do faces, this CD is for you.

You need a computer, Mac OS or Windows with a CD player and a Browser with a QuickTime plug in. You can get the QuickTime plug in off the net for free. If you can surf the web, you have a browser.
